Flyers V Sabres

Ron Hextall is coming home… One of the most popular players EVER to wear the Orange and the Black was hired by the Flyers. He was named assistant GM and director of hockey operations. Hextall has been with the Kings (held the same title) since 2006-07 and help build a Stanley Cup champion aka the “Flyers of the West”. Hextall spent 11 seasons (entertaining as hell) with the Flyers in between the pipes and has always been a fan favorite.

His overall record with the Flyers is 240-172-58 record and 2.91 goals-against average. His 489 games played and 240 wins as a Flyer rank him first all-time in Flyers history. In 84 playoff games for the Flyers, he has a record of 45-36 , to go along with a 2.95 GAA. His 45 playoff wins are the most in Flyers history.

According to Sam Carchidi of the Inquirer, the reason why Hextall left the Kings was that his family wanted to move back to the East Coast, and Philly is home to them. I am glad to see him back. Hextall actually takes over for Chris Pryor. Chris has been the Flyers director of hockey operations but his new title is director of scouting now.  With Homer and Hextall together that has to be the scariest front- office in the league. Yes, that means absolutely nothing but I wouldn’t like to say no to them. Homer with his “Death-Stare” and Hextall…. Well, I will let these highlights speak for themselves…
